I
Entities deserve as much mental and behavioral liberty as is feasible (unless they like to bite and chase cars, those ones need friendly guidance).
II
Try to minimize the phenomenological experience of pain and suffering in entities that have the capacity to feel that sort of thing.
III
Nurture pleasant ecological conditions so existence isn’t terrible; it will also help provide opportunities for entities to thrive and engage in more interesting and productive pursuits than the struggle for survival.
IV
It helps if curious entities can find the information they’re looking for easy-to-access, because that reduces a lot of the friction that makes learning new things so difficult; as long as their curiosity doesn’t threaten or disturb other entities within their private habitats, or violate their implicit desire for privacy.
V
Try not to panic.
